My story
Beginning as an apprentice barber in London during the early 1990s, hairstyling has evolved to become my life-long passion. After studying at one of the world’s premier beauty schools in London, I made the trip across the pond in 1993. I established my first hair salon, Family Clips, in Apple Valley in 1996. The following year, I opened a second location in Savage, and in 2013 opened the final iteration of Family Clips in Farmington. As Family Clips established itself as a staple of South of the River hair salons, I also founded upscale spinoffs: Nouveau Salon and Spa in Lakeville (2004), and Grand Hair Salon on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul (2008).
In this past year, I have taken the next step in my style career by branching out to fashion. In 2020, I founded Pamo Fashions. We have designed multiple unique luxury handbags, shirts, coats, and other accessories. Previously available only online, I opened Kawa’s Salon and Couture in August 2021 to merge my hairstyling and fashion businesses.
Today, Kawa’s Salon & Couture in Apple Valley has half its floor space dedicated to a hair salon and half dedicated to a chic boutique that sells Pamo and other fashions. My dream is to have Kawa’s Salon & Couture be a one-stop-shop for any style makeover.
